China Mobile's contract

Good news for ZTE, finally China Mobile announced the deal. Unlucky for Nokia-Siemens, as they are too late to enter TD-SCDMA market, they got a tiny contract.

Maybe I have told you guys separately about that well-known possible good news for ZTE, it broke out last weekend. The price jumped over 10% yesterday. Did I get a fortune? :P my greed blocked on the way. Anyway, everything has its price. Mr. Market would tell everyday. The news was faster than I expected, which before ZTE (0763.HK) could reach my targeted $35 (reached $36, 2 weeks before already), now is $42.

Not a problem, like Research In Motion, after you know what will happen in the future, you also have to be accurate about the time. That’s an interesting thing to scrutinize. I confirmed China Mobile will use TD-SCDMA since last year, from reliable source. It would be good to know their PO schedule as well. :P (However, PO schedule in my company changes also). If you are aware of what is going on around you, the products and companies around you, you will know more news anyway (please share!!!).

Thanks Harris, for sharing the popular handset information. I have checked the price of the phones as well, Nokia’s range is about 1/4 of Sony Ericsson’s phone, and Motorola phone is still V3?!?! I guess EU includes those eastern Europe, as I wonder how the strong sales of Nokia phones which costs only 20 GDP aligns with the fact that more and more people are using 3G phones.

About Qualcomm, Nokia gave them patent fee no more (gave Qualcomm a small sum last week for other patent fee). I guess more and more lawsuits would arise. Let’s see what will happen to China Telecom’s contract~ (still believe China Telecom would build WCDMA network)
