La Nina and El Nino

Haven’t had such a nice weather for so long~

Seems HK this year can be up to 40’C, and last week, I talked to my friends, and know that LA is melting, this year can reach 46’C~!!! From newspaper, I read that in UK, the summer has already gone in April. There is only one day in these months which the whole country has no rain is 15th July. As we have rarely nice weather, it is surely not the notorious El Nino (厄爾尼諾現象) phenomenon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Niã±o, what we have now is called La Nina (拉尼娜現象). http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_advisory/ensodisc.html

Going through web, you would realize those means extreme weather. During La Nina, Western part of America would be dry and hot and chances of Hurricane would be high. Well, and we have a nicer weather in HK but more rains in other places.

People would buy one thing the most in a hot weather, Electricity. There are 2 major parts of electricity, one is generation and other is distribution (don’t forget I worked in CLP before~!), and in US, the power distribution network is quite weak actually. While I have been reading the companies, mentioned by Jack, which collect his electricity bill, there was power lost announced from it (!!!), however I still think the sales of Electricity in west coast would be huge this year.

I have always been looking for company doing environmental business. Then Kenneth always tells me according to his environmental business knowledge, what most important is clean water. When I was driving on the other day, there was a nice garbage truck drove pass me, Veolia Environment (VE) is the company. That is a big company for waste management, and when I go through its competitor, I found a French company called Suez (SZE), which is even bigger company to do everything I want, Electricity, Waste Management and Water Networking. Well, I have not bought it yet, still wait until I read enough of it, but it is just a story of how I have looked for a targeted company from our daily life. :P

Hope the weather is that nice, but not that hot…
