Red Shift doubt

I read science books, a lot from Feynman, and I am waking up by his words somehow. As a lecturer, he certainly is one of the greatest in his/our time. I still cherish a lot to read things that he wrote. He once said, “We are learned to not asking.” That’s very true and we learn to not ask, doesn’t mean because we know; it means we are building blocks after we learn so much to question something very fundamental. It is more shameful to not ask than asking something stupid, I really hope that the little one would know that and ask me everything in doubt.

I don’t know why flowing water is cooler than still one and why some light beam would be reflected and some would go through the same glass. I remember I asked lecturer in my year one whether the earth’s magnetic field is induced because earth's abundant in metal would cause the filed by his rotation. Surely, my lecturer said, “if you asked in Cambridge or Oxford, probably you can write a paper about it for your degree. However, in Imperial, we think first the practical usage of the science rather than the theory behind it.” I didn’t make myself a fool, fortunately.

In the search of the scientific truth, I know the sequence of all that…
1, Galileo invented magnify glasses and discovered speed of light by observing the moons of Jupiter
2, People discovered light spectrum would have dark lines for different elements
3, Hubble made a detailed calculation about all stars and its color and found out the Red Shift and Hubble constant
4, from Red Shift, we know the universe is expanding
5, As the universe is expanding, we derived Big Bang theory, age of universe and size of our universe…

However, I have doubt somehow. It really bothers me and I hope one day I will go back to school because of it… What happens if Red Shift is wrong?!

For red shift, Hubble discovered that the farther away the stars, the electromagnetic wave which is detected on earth would be lower in frequency. As we all know about Doppler effects, the object (emitter) which creates wave would produce higher frequency wave when it is approaching to the observer and would produce lower frequency wave when it is going away from the observer. As light is bluer, when the planet is farther away, it must be true that it is running away from us.

Hmm… However, we know Energy is Planks Constant x Speed of Light / Wavelength… I always think it is normal for a wave/particle thingy to travel so far away from star and so far from us would lose energy to other thing (gravity of surrounding? Summary of history is lost as some histories is eaten by black holes?)… Before I assume much, I probably can read more about why people think Red Shift is unquestionable. Of course, if you know why, you can tell me as well…

World would be better if we still know how to ask.
