God is Shelter

God is shelter, for those who believe God will give. Yes, it is in condition. This year, my Dad is getting baptized. It took him 2 years for lesson before he could finally join the Holy Communion. There were few people in his biblical class; not all of them pass to be catholic at this time.

Choice, as you think. It is you to select and not to select to be catholic. However, after some of us think we have committed so much and how much we are appreciating the bible stories. It turned out to be not so easy to be Catholic. Yes, God selects us as well. There are many reasons. The complicated procedures, the stubborn policy, the tedious liturgy… all could be seen as intervention of us to reach God for those who failed. But is that true?

People blame God for not rewarding for being good, and people even abandon God for not giving what they pray for. I used to ask if the sin of a murderer worse than those not believe in God… Well, by now, the answer seems obvious. God always help people who have faith, and faithless is always the reason for us parting from God.

There is one very good piece of Bible about “what does God needs you to do for him?” From Job (Jacob) 22:2 onwards
“Can a man be profitable to God?
Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if you are in the right,
or is it gain to him if you make your ways blameless?...

As God is creator, nothing creator relies on creatures indeed. You have attended your lesson and being nice, you have not done any good to God but to yourself.

Job was someone did every thing in God’s will, but being tested by Satan by taken away his nearly everything. He blamed God for not helping him but still let those wicked safe. Of course from behind, (Job 22:21-30) it explains to becoming faithful, one will not have injustice anymore, no more anger and no more fear. God will listen to you, and you will have what you want, since only righteous can be with you.

Yes, when you are in doubt, dismay, lost and helpless. If you have faith and know the path is laid by God, you will walk as lightly as in the air. However, if you turn to God for your own wish, the door of heaven would take you are long journey to reach.

Of course, for the small ones, you are already baptized. You are already inside the library which wisdom and truth surround you. Hope you can build your faith for which will give you strength and solutions for the hurdles you face in the future. Others, happy Easter holiday :)

Proud and Talent

When you grow up, more or less you have to be confident on something in order to build your reputation. Success at work, academic, family background and personal fortune would lead people boasting about himself. So smart, so skillful, so fit, so pretty and so rich…

It was time near Easter, and I did my confession, and had a thought about Proud which father has explained. Surely proud is sinful especially you compare your possession with people that do not own. There was a parable about Talents from the Gospels. (Matthew 25:14-30) Very interestingly, “Talent” (塔冷通), as noted in Bible, was a monetary unit worth about twenty years' wages for a laborer. (like if one’s monthly wage is 20K, we are talking about 5M here.)

A talent, in Jesus time is some handsome amount of money. Then in current day, though it probably does not worth that much, however, the parable is even more obvious for us. We all have some talents, sports, languages, logical thoughts etc. Even something inherited from family like wealth and appearance and experience are all something given by God. Or I put it in Jesus terms, the master has given his servants the talents according to servants ability and settle accounts with them after the master returns.

All Talents are given by God, for each person; hence we do not need to be proud of anything that you do better than others. However, we have to bear in mind that when the Lord returns, we should show him how we made use of the Talents. I was thinking, at the end of the day, all Talents will be returned, and those who you look down upon will have the talents you are so proud that only you have. As that day will surely come, why don’t we invest our talent by sharing it with others and let those who haven’t got now be joyful?

I am not sure how best I could do that, however in one occasion, I do know I am doing it quite well. That’s on football field. To play happily with people together with different skills and level is always my most enjoyable moment in life. :) Hope you will realize your talent, and never be proud but make good use of it in your life.

It's been a while for me to write. I should think about what is the legacy of me for who I care... I believe religion is something quite important to me which I have not written too much. Mostly because I don't want to have conflicts with other believers. As I have convinced my Dad, who is a free-thinker to become catholic, I think it is my responsibility to write...

OK, my hands are like robots.

Reading Bible is very good, I feel like understand much than before. I guess because I read it from the Genesis.

Now, I truely believe what Jesus said is more meaningful than I thought. For those I don't understand still, requires more intelligent to digest. God not showing the details to everyone, but instead use examples to let people see but not see through, hear but not digest.

I feel like things are being guided. If it is the way it goes, I will go happily...

Meanwhile, to enjoy and put on smiling face everyday.

Bible

Today I opened Bible, many thoughts...

1, If I feel I am suffering, because I am put into suffer. I really believe God have arranged all these for me. To be lucky but harsh in career, to be alone... For the sin and things that maybe not wanted by God. Only when I think thoroughly, and ready to be with God. It will be fulfilled.

2, Like that morning, I went to church and a story started. Like that morning, I didn't go to church and crossed my lord. There needs faith and patient if she doesn't believe in God.
