After one year of captaincy, I found out forming a team is not easy. Finding someone not only like playing, but also can play was very hard.

We were crashed badly. Hmm... We, especially, Humphrey..... That was also a year of enjoying football. Playing football to whoever wanting to play. However, I could still remember how helpless we were when me and Alan tried to find out what has happened in UCL pitch... Anyway~

After the horrible season, Alan decided not to play as Goalie, and fortunately, there was Kin who volunteered to play. Half of the problem is solved. With Ken's help, we have Arthur playing for us. Arthur has a very good figure as a defender. Then Vincent, Oliver are all here ready to play. We finally could play some football I want. 4-4-2 or 3-5-2, I enjoyed every game. Anyway, with them all together we won't lose. Harry, Jonathan provided very good feed from any place in the pitch. That is my team, that is still my team.

Maybe because of enjoyment, I could play a lot and each game I play harder. I never feel tired in the pitch. I know that is some kind of inspiration we need in the team. I know that... below is the final mail to the team I cherished a lot.

Last weekend, we have easily beated Oxford 5-0, and have performed well again, both defensively and tactically.

I have experienced a lot these 2 years.

First of all, thanks for Denny giving me chance to be a mid-fielder, and a captain. I could say, last year was hard, provided that I was just a 2nd yr, and supposed to rebuild the whole team from what we had lost in the year before.

At that time, I needed to thank Alan who helped me to ask people to come to play football, and to organise matches with people in ULU. It was a hard year for us, being 'raped' by QM and UCL was an usual thing. Of course I blamed myself a bit, but we all knew that dark time would have gone. We haven't won a single match since Nov. 97 to the last game of the Easter Tournament, Mar 98, we even drew 3-3 with Oxford, and finally, thanked Leslie who left the ball for me in the match against ULU star team, I scored the winning goal from outside of the penalty area.

This year is much easier indeed, people like Tony and Oli are more in the team, Raymond and Leslie are much stronger this year. Moreover, I have a full selection from the first year, Peter, Vicent, Kin, Freddy... Also, we have a stronger foreign force from He-hin and Arthur. Of course we have Harry, Andy, Stam, Nelson and yet to be regular Ah Wai. Our team could be very flexible, since all our players are different.

I like to play every match with you guys, and I have not missed a single game since I first came to IC for Chi. Soc. It is all because of enjoying playing football. However, I think I have achieved what I supposed to do, and feel tired now. Oxford game was good enough for me to keep in my mind as my last game of my captaincy. As everyone knows it is only a matter of time, Oliver will take over my place. Of course, it is not the end of my day, I am looking forward to win our first Championship with you guy in the coming season. And I hope our team would become more and more successful and well-organised, and everyone in our team enjoy playing football. Since we are not in an Army, I just wanna play football, then wanna play well, and then wanna become the Champion.
