Val Thorens [2000]
Val Thoren is famous for the 3 valleys, and I had the most extreme trip there.
It was the first time I played snowboard. Yes, snowboard without cusion nor tutor was a super painful thing I can tell you. I am a regular boarder (left pointing front), and the result is my left bum was hurt so badly.
I joined this great trip with my Singaporean friends (Winter 1999). It was a 7 days trip and Val Thoren was a mega ski resort. You could ski there for more than 1 day without repeating any route.
The very first day, I jumped on my snowboard, I followed my friends. My friends only gave me one crash course: Falling Leaves... then they flew away. In the evening, I had a bad fall, a 180o falling on head. Then I couldn't see things clearly. (a month later, I saw doctor and he told me I had a slight concussion) I couldn't focus on what I saw, just one was up and one was down, no matter how hard I tried to cross my eyes. Well, my dear friends weren't worry, but just told me no need to cook for that night.... (that's your typical friends in uni)
Well, the next day, I tried harder, and I got hold of it finally. Though I couldn't board as well as I ski, I fell less. Anyway, it was painful, however, the place was so amazing which you had to go through places by yourself. It was indeed a great feeling.
This time... thanks Chunchau~ :P
